CAGIR - third edition

July 6 - 19, 2014
Universite de Bourgogne, Dijon, France

This is the third edition of Computer Aided Geometry of Curves and Surfaces with Image Recognition (CAGIR, for short) - an intensive programme of the European Union LLP Erasmus.
In the previous editions (August/September 2012 and June/July 2013), 45 students in total took a part.

CAGIR is a joint initiative of six universities from five European countries:

  • KU Leuven - Leuven, Belgium
  • Universite de Bourgogne - Dijon, France
  • Universita degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro - Bari, Italy
  • Uniwersytet Jagiellonski - Krakow, Poland
  • Uniwersytet Lodzki - Lodz, Poland
  • Universidade de Santiago de Compostela - Santiago de Compostela, Spain

The intensive course is devoted to teaching geometry and computer graphics with applications. This innovative programme contains 60 hours of lectures, tutorials and laboratories in 2 weeks led by the international group of mathematicians. Participants obtain 4 ECTS credits.

The course is dedicated for students of the second (master) and third (doctoral) level. Pre-requisites are calculus, linear algebra and some computer skills. Differential geometry and mathematical software would be useful but not necessary.

CAGIR is accesible only for students of attending universities. The travel and local costs (learning materials, lodging, meals, social program) are covered by the organizers.
